In August of 2005, two Wyalusing area businessmen made the decision to attempt to bring the fun and excitement of motorsports to the Northern Tier area.  WVMP President Rich Howard & WVMP Track Director Billy Maynard shared a vision of a fun, family oriented facility where people of all ages could become involved and enjoy racing in several types of 'small cars', including Karts, Slingshots, and Microsprints.

After jumping one hurdle after another, the duo's vision became a reality in June of 2006.  This first season proved to be a learning experience.  The two continued to work with their vision in 2007, when they were rewarded with an increase in attendance of nearly 125%!

Improvements and new promotions continue to generate new interest in the Wyalusing area facility.  The involvement of the business community is crucial to the success of WVMP.  Without the support of area businesses, there is no way the facility can survive.

The main focus at WVMP continues to be on the young racers.  There are so many lessons a youngster learns that will carry on to other phases in their life.  The time spent working on their car, working with sponsors, and going to the track to compete builds character and keeps them focused and occupied with something constructive, all the while spending time with family and friends in a supervised setting.

There are many ways in which businesses can advertise with Wyalusing Valley Motorsports Park.  While billboards and event sponsorships are the most common methods, there are endless unique possibilities available.  The more imaginative, the better!

With over 20 years of involvement in motorsports, Maynard has seen many different motorsport advertising programs ranging from small local businesses to national corporations.  During his driving career, he has been described as a "sponsor's dream" by more than one member of the media.
