Section II - Divisions, Restrictors, Weights, Age/Eligibility Requirements
NOTE!!! – In classes where the flathead and animal engines are mixed, we will be paying particular attention to come up with a rule package that provides parity between the two. We hope to have this accomplished by the end of the two practice days. If we deem it necessary to make changes in weights, restrictors, or otherwise to create a level playing field, we may do so AT ANY TIME, including after the season has started.

*This is a beginners division. Because of the young age of the competitors, please understand that it is the parents
responsibility to teach the driver the meaning of the flags and to go over the procedural rules with them. Any driver in this division unable to run consistent laps under 22 seconds and/or unable to obey the flaggers commands/signals will not be allowed to compete until they are able to do so. We will work with you to get your child as much seat time as possible, as we understand that this is the only way they will learn. Please understand that this is for the safety of your child and the others in this division. Drivers MUST be at least 5 years old, NO EXCEPTIONS!
**Drivers with at least one year of verifiable racing experience will be allowed to enter these divisions one year early. If, in the opinion of WVMP officials, they are not ready for this move and are creating an unsafe situation, they will be asked to return to their previous division for the remainder of the season. THIS DECISION WILL BE FINAL!
NOTE: A driver's age as of May 1st determines which division they are eligible for. Drivers beginning the year in a division may complete the season even if their age exceeds the class maximum after May 1st. Drivers NOT old enough to enter a division by May 1st MAY NOT begin running in that division until their actual age makes them eligible.
NOTE: Where the word "stock" is used, we will be using WKA Stock rules as a guideline. WVMP official’s interpretation and method of checking the rules as written in the WKA manual will be final.
PROOF OF AGE: Any driver whose age is in question will be required to provide their ORIGINAL birth certificate the following week for age verification. If it is found that they competed in any events prior while at an ineligible age, they will be stripped of all points for those events. They will also not be permitted to compete in any divisions they are not eligible for from that point forward. Drivers failing to provide this proof will be suspended from competition until the certificate is provided. Drivers requested to provide proof but failing to do so within 2 weeks of the final event of the season will lose all points in the division in question and will forfeit any and all awards earned in that division during the season. YOUR COOPERATION IN THIS AREA IS NOT ONLY APPRECIATED, IT MANDATORY!!! The track’s decision in the area of age requirements is FINAL and NON-NEGOTIABLE!
